2021 ma luma -๐Ÿ’•- 2021 and beyond

Manuia le Tausaga 2021!! Happy New Year internet aiga!!

I apologize I have been offline.  I'm slowly recovering from koviti (covid) ๐Ÿ˜ž

This year has been filled with many setbacks already and we are still in blistering cold Ianuari (January) in the midwest ⛄๐Ÿ˜ฐ

Nonetheless - we're alive and well. O lea, ia vi'ia pea le Ali'i i lona alofa ma lona agalelei ae maise lona tausiga ia i tatou uma a o tatou va va mamao.๐Ÿ™

Praise God for His love and mercy especially His protection over us all as we are apart from one another.

I wanted to post some worksheets I have created for the kiddos' home-school Samoan lessons.  Ioe, the smalls do not get a pass from learning ๐Ÿ˜ even in the time of covid.

They got a kick out of these conversational exercises as I have them read out loud. Helps with fluency and reading comprehension. Figure I'll share these with my internet aiga.๐Ÿ˜€

Enjoy and please, be safe! ๐Ÿ’Ÿ

Tatalo pea mo outou uma.

P - mo Palota - Election Year ๐Ÿ

 Hello there internet peeps!

I believe I've mentioned before how important 2020 has been. This is now an understatement as SO MUCH has happened. It is definitely life changing for everyone all over the world!

I have been extremely busy now doing online zoom Samoan classes and interpretations that I've neglected to post ๐Ÿ˜”

But I wanted to share some important observations in doing my video sessions with other children, I've discovered even more so that pronunciation of certain letters or sounds are problematic for first-time Samoan speakers.  Namely, letters "P" and "G".

I have included below some work sheets also check out the correct pronunciation of these two letters:

P - pbeeh not soft like "pillow" not hard like "boy" but somewhere in between.

Pronunciation sound for mata'itusi P - ๐Ÿ”‰ P

I will dedicate another post to the letter "G" but I wanted to post the letter "P" first because another important event coming up is the Presidential election ๐Ÿ˜„

So here are some worksheets to promote knowledge and awareness to our future leaders. Inform them of how important it is to vote and learn more about the mata'itusi "P"

Here is the link worksheet for mata'itusi "P":

Salamo 23 ~ Psalm 23 ๐Ÿ™

Here is one the most recognized text in the bible. I find the words of King David appropriate and comforting as we teach our kids about injustice and how to fight for equality, to stand up for marginalized individuals.
In teaching my children le Salamo 23, it does become a mouthful so I've broken them down to smaller units with pictures so they'll remember the next verse.
We should all look upwards to the solace that our Good Shepherd provides as only He can guide us to everlasting peace.

Tatalo a le Alii ๐Ÿ™

Hello Aiga!!
I ๐Ÿ™ you are all protected amid all we are experiencing during this time.๐Ÿ˜Œ

I am deeply saddened by the injustice and generational racism that still exist today.
Maybe this means this ๐ŸŒ is near the end...๐Ÿ‘€

Due to the current events, we are learning the Lord's prayer or Le Tatalo a le Alii.
I have the slides here as I am teaching my son one line at a time.

We need spiritual guidance from our Father now more than ever....๐Ÿ™

Be safe!

E faitauina Oe - Be Counted! ๐Ÿ™‹

Hello virtual aiga!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š

I ๐Ÿ™ you are all well and healthy. This pandemic has changed the way we live - our work, school, community functions and worship has been affected. I know in my area, people are trying to adjust to these changes and not always an easy process.๐Ÿ˜•

Long story short - its been busy on my end. I now work from home and playing multiple roles all at the same time - sometimes wearing my hats simultaneously ๐Ÿ‘’: teacher, maid, coach, cook, mentor ๐Ÿ‘€...am sure many of you are going through the same motions ๐Ÿ˜†

When I said I love learning...someone up there heard me and put me to the test. ๐Ÿ˜€
So as we are all learning to adjust to our new "normal" I wish you all the best....๐Ÿ™Œ

I have not created any new material yet - but here's something to teach the kiddos: the importance of being counted for our census - our population benefits in many ways by participating in this process.
please share, educate and participate!!!
